I created Sandwickhill Studios as a space to feel good in your body, to find a healthy and balanced approache to fitness and wellness within in a likeminded positive community. Whether you're looking for some peace and zen, a high intensity sweat fest or a party style dance class, the aim was to make movement fun and accessible.
I began teaching movement in 2009, a few years after moving to the Hebrides. The thing I missed most about the city was access to a wide range of dance, fitness and wellbeing classes so (to cut a long story short) I started my own fun dance sessions for adults and kids.
It rolled from there and in 2013 I opened the doors to my first studio, Hebrides Dance & Wellbeing Studio which enabled me to grow my business, community and feed my passion for movement. So much so in fact that we outgrew the space.
We began the first stages of planning this project in 2016, when my youngest son Hamish, was just 4 months old and I was working full time as an instructor. Construction began in 2018 and we were due to complete the project this Spring.
The next stage is to create a timetable featuring a range of teachers and styles, with monthly membership opportunities, as well as growing our children's dance academy with more dance styles, opportunities to perform, compete and sit exams. We are open to working with dance companies and dancers as well as teachers of movement, dance and wellbeing and would love to hear your ideas!
